Double Consciousness

Dr. Griffin has researched and taught on the role of double consciousness for minority students. He speaks to the importance of relieving students of the emotional, social, and psychological burden of pretending. He focuses on leading with students' preferred consciousness in mind to create more authentic learning and relationships for educators and their students.

Culturally Responsive

As the United States of America becomes more diverse so do the students we serve. The number of educators and the curriculum many rely on do not reflect the realities of our racially and ethnically, diverse society. Dr. Griffin can provide and explain research-based strategies for all educators to implement in their classrooms and schools to make learning more engaging for all students.

Equity

"I treat all of my students the same!" This is a phrase we've heard or even used to validate our fairness when teaching, connecting, or correcting our students. Unfortunately, this "one size fits all approach" does not consider the unique values, experiences, and expectations of our students. Dr. Griffin can speak to the thinking and work required that reflects an equitable learning environment.
